We exist to see a generation awakened to the reality of God’s Kingdom, firmly rooted in their identity in Christ, equipped with spiritual and practical tools, and released to bring His presence and power into every sphere of society.
This isn’t a pause before “real life.” It’s the year that shapes every year after. You’ll go deeper in your relationship with God, build lifelong friendships, and gain the skills and confidence to live with purpose. Whether your future is in ministry, missions, or the marketplace, you’ll leave with a stronger foundation, a clearer direction, and a heart that’s alive to God’s Kingdom.

One generation. One pursuit. Marked by His presence. Sent in His power.
For 27 years, VGY has been a place where young people from across South Africa and the nations have set aside a year of their lives to pursue God, encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover their Kingdom purpose.
And as we look to the future, our conviction is stronger than ever: God is raising up a generation who will carry His presence, proclaim His Gospel, and become catalysts for a move of God across the earth.
We believe this generation is hungry for something more. More than simply knowing about God, they long to know Him deeply. They are ready to respond to His call, surrender their lives to His purposes, and make a lasting impact in the world around them.
As a church, we believe we have a responsibility to make room for what God is doing in the next generation, creating an environment where young people can be transformed by His presence and equipped to live boldly for Him.
A renewed focus. A shared journey.
Over the years, VGY has offered a number of specialised streams, including worship, media and leadership. Each has played a meaningful role in equipping young people and shaping the journey of VGY.
As we step into this next chapter, we sense God leading us towards a more unified and intentional approach to discipleship.
Rather than following separate streams, all VGY students will now journey together through one shared discipleship experience, centred on knowing Jesus, being formed in His presence, and being equipped to live out His mission.
This renewed approach will place an even greater emphasis on prayer and worship, encountering the presence of God, biblical discipleship, authentic community, practical ministry, and national outreaches.
Our desire is to see young people not only grow in their knowledge of God, but develop a deep, personal relationship with Him, one that transforms the way they live, lead, serve and carry the Gospel into the world.
The mission remains. The journey deepens.
While the structure of VGY is evolving, our heart and calling remain unchanged.
We exist to see a generation encounter Jesus, be established in His Word, equipped for His purposes, and empowered by His Spirit to make Him known.
A generation marked by His presence and sent in His power.
If you're a young person hungry for more of God, longing to grow in your faith, and passionate about seeing His Kingdom advance in your generation, we invite you to set aside a year to pursue Him wholeheartedly.
We believe God has extraordinary things in store for this next chapter of VGY, and we'd love for you to be part of it.
Your year of pursuit could become the foundation for a lifetime of purpose.
