CORE PROGRAMME
BUILDING FOUNDATIONS
All of the Victory Gap Year streams go through the Victory Gap Year core programme, which lays a sturdy Biblical foundation in the lives of our students. These core subjects and activities expose them to life-changing learning experiences and establish a Biblical worldview. The core programme covers subjects concerning the foundations of the Christian faith, understanding the ways of the Kingdom of God, as well as your identity as a son or daughter in that Kingdom. The programme also includes other activities for the purpose of team and character building, as well as being part of and serving our Victory Church family.

When I did my gap year at VGY, I did Worship Stream. Along with our stream specific classes we also got to do Core lectures, which included Personal Leadership, Biblical Survey and Introduction to Theology. In these classes I really got to explore who I am and what God says about me, gain life skills and get in depth knowledge about the Bible. We covered topics like Spirit, Soul and Body, Hebrews 6 Foundations, and Romans 8, which really confronted me with where I was in my relationship with God, and in what I was truly finding my identity in. In Biblical Survey we would cover all the books of the Bible, and across all of these I discovered the true depth of God’s love for me. Lectures like “How to hear God’s voice” also helped my growth and we got to practically exercise what we learnt during the week in our core tutorial classes, growing my confidence in my faith and my relationship with God.
